This splendid story in the new York Times magazine gets to grips with the Marshmellow meme that states that if You can resist temptation at age 4, You are likely to do very good later in life. Such kind of theories that simplify the complexity of life are such instant gratifiers in themsef that many people tend to fall for its simplicity and fall for his old cognitive bias. This article debunks the many flaws in this study (diverse instances of selection bias and covariant imbalance).
