UCSD Swartz Center Researchers Collaborate with National Chiao-Tung Univ. on BCI TechnologyExploring Brain Computer Interface (BCI) Technology and Cognitive AugmentationIn a collaborative effort, Dr. Tzyy-Ping Jung and his colleagues at the Swartz Center for Computational Neuroscience at UCSD, directed by Dr. Scott Makeig, have been working with researchers at National Chiao-Tung University (NCTU) in Taiwan on various projects for the last four years. They have collaborated on BCI with leading experts in electrical and neural engineering at NCTU’s Brain Research Center, directed by IEEE Fellow Dr. Chin-Ten Lin, to design, fabricate and test mobile and wireless EEG dry biosensors and miniaturized bio-amp, ADC and wireless chips that allow a radically new vision of dynamic brain imaging: development of non-invasive, mobile, high-definition brain imaging (HDBI) of cortical electromagnetic and energy dynamics in human subjects freely moving within their 3-D environments.Tzyy-Ping Jung, Ph.D., is Associate Director at the Swartz Center for Computational Neuroscience, Institute for Neural Computation at the University of California, San Diego. He also holds the position of Professor, Brain Research Center, Dept. of Computer Science, at National Chiao-Tung University in Taiwan.
